I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Ex twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making huge earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters participated in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really going ahead.
